Reviews
“Each day, Janet’s reflections drew me closer to God, inviting me to slow down, rest in His love, and see both myself and His creation through eyes of grace. This devotional offers a gentle refuge from the storms of life, providing moments of deep intimacy with God. Anyone seeking peace and spiritual renewal will find it within these pages.”
Mark Steffey, Pastor to student athletes at the University of Pittsburgh
What a wonderful devotional! The author writes about her observations of backyard birds, and draws meaningful connections between their lives, our own lives, and biblical messages. I don’t think you’ll have to be a bird lover to enjoy this, but I suspect that anyone who pays attention to birds will especially like this book!- W. R. Mitchell
To start off… I am not a fan of reading books~~~! However, this one keeps my interest as it is written like you are sitting at the table having a cup of coffee with the author as she reads it to you~! Everyday life at it’s best~! I like how she inserts a short Biblical application/lesson in each chapter. Gives good “food for thought” as you continue on with your day. The only “problem” with the book is, I want to keep on reading it straight thru~! ha~! But I am pacing myself and letting the “journey” of bird watching stick with me a day or two before I start the next chapter. Had nice photos as well. This book would make a great gift.- Deb S.
This book is such a refreshing and comforting read. I felt like I was sitting across the table from a kind, wise friend-someone who notices the beauty in small, everyday moments and knows how to draw out gentle, meaningful truths from them. The way the author observes birds and weaves those moments into deeper reflections on faith is both creative and inspiring. Each devotion offers a quiet pause in a busy world, with just the right touch of Scripture to leave you thinking, encouraged, and grounded. I also loved the photos- they add such a personal and peaceful touch. This book would make a wonderful gift, but it’s definitely one to keep nearby for yourself too. – DiMaggio
I enjoyed this book as I sat with my coffee, visualizing the authors bird feeder and the birds’ and chipmunk, Alvin’s, antics. The scripture insights are relative and give me pause to reflect on the connections the author makes. I highly recommend this personable and insightful book.– Janyce Brawn
